To Calm (Activate Parasympathetic)
- Extended exhale - Inhale 4, exhale 6-8
- Slow, steady rhythm - About 6 breaths per minute
- Gentle - No forcing or strain
To Energize (Activate Sympathetic)
- Shorter, faster breaths
- Inhale emphasis
- Movement combined with breath
