The "Worried Mind" Letter Technique

Sometimes the best way to deal with anxious thoughts is to write them down.

How It Works

  1. Set a timer for 10 minutes
  2. Write a letter that begins: "Dear Worried Mind, I hear you saying..."
  3. Let everything pour out without editing
  4. When done, read it back to yourself

Why It Helps

  • Externalizes the anxiety
  • Creates distance between you and your thoughts
  • Often reveals the core fear beneath the surface

What to Do After

You can keep the letter, burn it, or throw it away. The writing is what matters.
